In collaboration with LAUP and Cultureworks, the Holland Museum will host our annual Dia de Los Muertos event. Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a Mexican holiday when family and friends come together to celebrate death and life. Join us for an afternoon of music by Hector Estupian and Isela Alvarez and dance with performances by Ballet Folklorico de Mi Terra (Kalamazoo) and Ballet Folklorico Sol Azteca (Holland), plus art activities provided by CultureWorks and face painting! Visitors will also enjoy community created ofrendas, a colorful altar with flowers, pictures, and other offerings in remembrance of those who have passed. Art works created by Holland Public, Black River, and West Ottawa students inspired by the symbols and imagery of Dia de Los Muertos will be on display.Saturday, October 26, 2024
