DHCD is hosting a public hearing on the housing and community development needs in the District of Columbia and interested in receiving community feedback on the following documents:

  • FY 2027-FY 2031 Consolidated Plan & Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area
  • Draft FY 2027 Annual Action Plan (AAP)
  • FY 2027 Housing Trust Fund Allocation Plan
  • FY 2027 Substantial Amendment to the Recovery Housing Plan

PUBLIC HEARING DETAILS:

Residents and stakeholders are strongly encouraged to come out and participate in the development of policies and programs in the following areas: 1) affordable housing; 2) special needs housing; 3) homelessness; 4) homeownership; and 5) community development and public service activities.

Testimony: If you would like to provide input during the hearing, you are encouraged to register by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. The public may also contact DHCD at (202) 442-7239 to join the webinar, register, speak at the hearing, or ask general questions about the hearing. When registering for the hearing, please provide your name, address, telephone number, and organization affiliation, if any.

Language and Translations Services: The deadline for requesting services of an interpreter is five days prior to the hearing date. An American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter will be available and residents who require language interpretation Spanish, Amharic, Chinese-Mandarin/Cantonese, French, Korean, or Vietnamese must notify the agency by e-mail to [email protected].

Written Statements: Written statements may be submitted for the record at the hearing or until the close of business, Friday, April 24, 2026. Mail written statements to Colleen Green, Director, Department of Housing and Community Development, 1909 Martin Luther King Jr., Avenue SE, Washington, DC 20020. Statements may also be sent via email to [email protected].
