As a Model UN conference solely curated for the students of the University of Dhaka by the Dhaka University Model United Nations Association (DUMUNA), it has flourished as a crucible for leadership growth, youth diplomacy, and initiation into the Model UN arena.
In an age where a single keystroke can ignite movements or imperil nations, the boundary between liberty and security drifts into an ever-shifting haze. The digital realm, once a sanctuary of unrestrained expression, now finds itself woven into governance, surveillance, and state authority, calling for a quiet reckoning of power and principle. Framed within this shifting global reality, the Conclave convenes this year under the theme- “Reconciling National Security Interests with Freedom of Speech amid Evolving Digital Governance Structures.” As states navigate cyber threats, misinformation, and widening regulatory reach, the promise of free expression bears unprecedented weight. The Conclave endeavors to trace this delicate balance, where safeguarding national interests must resonate in harmony with the democratic ideals that lend societies their voice.
