Please join us for an evening of heartfelt folk music with acoustic singer/songwriter Devi Roisman.
About this Event

In the tradition of heartfelt folk music, acoustic singer-songwriter Devi Roisman’s soaring vocals and vulnerable storytelling return to The Back Room.

She is delighted to share a body of new & old work and will be joined by a phenomenal crew of collaborators: Meirav Roisman (vocals), Marie Szuts (viola da gamba), Jolana Bishay (vocals), Jason Rabineau (guitar), Rachel Heron (vocals), Pete Weiss (accordion & mandolin), Phil Gorman (piano & trumpet), & Troy Lush (guitar & piano).

Devi’s songs tenderly find their way into the life’s vulnerable, heartbreaking, and joyful moments. Her storytelling is honed from perspective as a mother, daughter, granddaughter, midwife, dancer, and meaning-seeker. Devi’s songs reach into the human psyche, touching loss, identity, friendship, and love in its many guises.

This special evening will also serve as a fundraiser for a project that integrates Devi’s passions for music & midwifery - Alameda Health System’s Centering Lullaby Project, which pairs birthing families with musicians to write personal lullabies for their children. See more about Devi’s work with the Centering Lullaby Project here:

Tickets are $18 in advance, $20 at the door general admission; $15 for Students with ID/low-income individuals. Children under 12 are free. Advance tickets are available here, or if the show is not sold out, you may purchase your tickets at the door before the show.
