Developer 101 Topic #2: Community Engagement & Opposition

Friday, June 28th 2024 @ 11:30-1:00 PM

The WRISE Twin Cities chapter is excited to host the second event in our "Developer Bootcamp 2024" series! In this session we will learn about the importance of community engagement in locations where renewable energy projects are sited, best practices for interacting with local communities, and ways to address opposition in the field.

This session will feature speaker Bailey Peterson-Webster, Senior Community Engagement Specialist of National Grid Renewables. Bailey has a background in sustainable agriculture, with extensive experience working with farmers and rural communities. She works directly with project communities on a regular basis, and supports the development, construction and operations teams at National Grid Renewables to provide high-impact community engagement.

Event Details: Lunch will be provided. Space is limited to 75 attendees; RSVPs are required. Please arrive between 11:30 and 12:00 to allow time to get some food before the session begins. If you have any dietary restrictions, please indicate in the Eventbrite invite, or email us directly at [email protected]

WRISE events are open to people of all genders who support our mission of advancing women in the renewable energy industry and creating equity and fostering inclusion for all people. If you know anyone who may be interested in this event, regardless of WRISE membership, please encourage them to attend.
