🌸 The Detroit Institute of Arts' (DIA) Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month celebration (AAPIHM) is entering its 9th year with a new Aluminum event scheduled, perpetuating the innovative legacy initiated by FOCA from Taiwan in 2017.

This May, the series program will highlight notable dates on May 16 and May 30, featuring the Celebration Show, Artist Show, and the Indian Festival, among others, showcasing convergence of creativity and connection to create a lasting impact.

【 Celebration Show 】 Experience the transformative power of unity and creativity as The Celebration Show brings together the vibrant energy of AAPIHM Lookback, the mesmerizing spectacle of Peking Opera from Taiwan, the haunting beauty of Mongolia's vocal trio with throat singing, and the dynamic pulse of Japan's Taiko Drums, alongside a captivating vocal duet with clarinet, majestic lion dance performances, and a rich cultural mosaic representing China, Vietnam, India, and beyond.

【 Artist Show 】 The Artist Show proudly presents a powerful lineup of twelve Asian artists poised to inspire and uplift, featuring Storytelling, Cultural Display, Julius Gyu Cheon Hwang, Benjamin Byung Joon Kim, Nh Myoung, Judy Wang, Luzhen Qiu, Tony (Anthony) Lee, Nobuko Yamasaki, Mino Watanabe, Dieu Thien, Vasundhara Tolia, and Minidha Arvindakshan (Minz Arvind), who are redefining creativity and pushing boundaries.
