Detectives Seek Information for Missing PersonOn November 21, 2021, Laniyah Whitted was reported as a Missing Person. Laniyah Whitted identified as “NiNi” by close friends and family was a member of the 2022 graduating class of Cape Fear High School. As a senior in High School, Laniyah worked a part time job at Carlie C’s IGA on Cedar Creek Road.
On Sunday, March 8, 2026, between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office will have the Command Post at Carlie C’s IGA, located at 600 Cedar Creek Rd. in Fayetteville, NC. The purpose of the event is to gather information from the public that could assist in the investigation concerning the suspicious disappearance of Laniyah Whitted.
We welcome the public to participate. We will have Detectives available to gather information and to answer questions.
She is described as:
• Black Female
• 21 Years Old
• 130 pounds
• 5’ 7” tall
• Brown Eyes
• Black Hair
