BIO
Dessislava Pirinchieva is a cultural manager and a storyteller who curates and communicates exhibitions, festivals, ephemeral events, and fundraising strategies. She is founder of the international cultural agency Splash which is operating across different disciplines such as art, design, dance, cinema, fashion, science, gastronomy, poetry, and technology in order to build relevant projects from concept to completion.
Dessislava has been working with many commercial brands, such as LOEWE and Porsche, bringing museum-quality art projects to a broader audience. For Soho House Barcelona, Dessislava had curated multiple talks, workshops, and performances; the most recent one was with the Spanish actress Rossy de Palma. Also, Dessislava was leading the art direction for the iconic local Ocaña since its beginning, creating through art one of the hottest spots in town establishing collaborations with local and international relevant cultural projects. She is the co-founder and artistic director of the festival CLUBS,
which has been organised for the last three consecutive years in Barcelona, bringing an expanded contemporary art exhibition to the dance floors and fostering synergies with public and private institutions, relevant art collections, galleries, and other entities.
Equally meaningful, our guest is pushing boundaries in an institutional framework, such as her professional path in Asia Society Hong Kong and the European Nomadic Biennial Manifesta, where she is currently working as Events Coordinator.
Due to her curiosity and passion for constant learning, Dessislava moved to Hong Kong for an year, where she graduated from MA in Cultural Management; previously, she was living, working, and studying in Shanghai. Those experiences have given her a unique and broad perspective on Eastern and Western cultures, which she applies to all projects she is involved with.
