About this Event
Join us for an exciting 5-day Holiday Camp where children dive into a world of creativity, innovation, and hands-on discovery! Designed to spark curiosity and imagination, this engaging camp invites kids to explore a wide range of physical and digital design projects through purposeful play. From experimenting with new ideas to building practical skills, children will enhance dexterity, strengthen creative and critical thinking, and gain confidence as young innovators. Each day brings fresh opportunities to learn, create, problem-solve, and have fun in a dynamic environment that inspires exploration and meaningful discovery.
The "Design an Animal Sanctuary" program, held on Day 1 and 2, invites young, creative minds to become thoughtful designers. Students will learn how intentional design can support animal welfare and create harmony between wildlife and urban environments. By focusing on a specific animal, from a core list of penguins, monkeys, elephants, or otters, or a self-chosen species, they will research its specific needs and apply that knowledge to design a safe and dignified sanctuary.
Pla, Design, Build a Prototype and Share with the Class
Over the course of the camp, students will first brainstorm and sketch a preliminary design before beginning to build a three-dimensional prototype using various materials. The second day is dedicated to refining their creations and preparing for a final presentation. This project-based experience goes beyond simple design, encouraging students to consider the importance of conservation, coexistence, and how sanctuaries, unlike traditional zoos, prioritize an animal's well-being and natural behaviours.

On Day 3, students will learn a basic introduction to TinkerCAD + 3D Printing (Level 1). Guided by experienced instructors and 3D printing specialists, students will learn TinkerCAD to create a mini stationery pot before exporting it to a 3D printer for printing. Students will witness the process of their digital form being printed from scratch.
While waiting for the 3D print, students will continue to explore TinkerCAD digital space, learning how to use the software as a design tool to create various digital forms. This immersive hands-on learning will empower them to envision, design, and shape their future prototypes.
Learning to model in TinkerCAD before 3D printing their object
Learn to model in 3D and to output file to 3D printer
On Day 4, students will delve deeper into the exploration of TinkerCAD, mastering more advanced modelling techniques to design, model and 3D print their own creations.
Challenge to model your dream home
On Day 5, students will level up from digital hobbyists to confident creators by mastering Fusion 360 and the art of 3D printing. Guided by our 3D printing specialists, they’ll learn to build professional-grade models, navigate the technical side of "slicing" and print settings, and gain the satisfying experience of finishing a physical object. It’s more than just a software class; it’s a deep dive into the professional design process that builds the spatial thinking and problem-solving skills needed to bring any big idea to life.
