Designing Your Next Chapter: Life Beyond Work (West Vancouver)
West Vancouver Memorial Library
McDonald Creek Room
Most retirement conversations focus on one question:
Do I have enough?
But far fewer ask:
What will my life actually look like when work is no longer the center of it?
This small, in-person session is designed for people who:
• are approaching retirement
• have recently stepped away from work
• or are starting to seriously think about what comes next
Because while most people prepare financially, the real challenge often begins after that.
How you spend your time
What gives your days structure
Where meaning and connection come from
This session explores that gap.
We will cover:
• Why retirement can feel uncertain — even when you’ve planned well
• What tends to be lost when work disappears (beyond income)
• What actually creates a meaningful and structured next phase of life
• How to start thinking about this as a “second adulthood”
• A simple way to identify what matters most before time quietly fills itself
You will also go through a small number of guided exercises to help:
• Reflect on your current reality
• Identify areas that may need more attention
• Begin to define what a meaningful next chapter could look like for you
This is not a presentation.
It is a small, structured, and conversational session designed to help you think more clearly about something most people avoid until it’s too late.
DETAILS
• Group size: limited to 10 people
• Duration: 90 minutes
• Format: guided, interactive, reflective
