In what is now an annual tradition at the Revue, feel better about the post-holiday blahs by watching the only thing more desolate than January in Toronto: Withnail and I. With an introduction to the movie's set design and character costume by series host Nathalie Atkinson.

Roommates Withnail and Marwood hope to escape the squalor of their London flat at a cottage in the Lake District (belonging to lascivious Uncle Monty). Naturally, the inhospitable and bone-chilling English damp follows them on holiday. Bruce Robinson’s blackly comic masterpiece is a rueful coda to friendship and 1960s idealism–-hilarious, poignant and almost unbearably melancholy.
