We are thrilled to welcome back Odet Baeuvoisin! After two fantastic Begin-to-Spin workshops, we are stepping into the next chapter of spinning: learning to ply and design our own yarn!
In his hands-on workshop, we will be preparing natural fibres by carding, and using a hand spindle to create our very own yarn that you can take away with you!
Tea, coffee and biscuits provided.
We have two ticket options:
£12.50 ticket: Yarn Plying Workshop only.
£18.50 ticket: Yarn Plying Workshop, including a Drop Spindle (RRP £9.50) to take away with you to continue practicing at home!

More about Odet:
Odet has been spinning, teaching, and designing yarns since the 1970s. She taught Handspinning & Yarn Design at Glasgow School of Art for nine years and studied on location with Marion Cambell, the last local Harris Tweed handloom weaver to dye and handspin her own weft.
As a ‘spinner in residence’ at The Coach House for 23 years, Odet demonstrated spinning and ran workshops for beginners, skill-developers, and advanced techniques. Over the past two decades, she has led workshops for the Highland Spinners, Weavers and Dyers Guild, Handspinner-Having-Fun Craft shop on Skye, and Gavin’s Mill (Milngavie).

This workshop is part of our Gather & Grow workshop series. For the month of April, we are celebrating Spring by coming together and getting creative!
Our aim is to promote sustainability through using donated and scrap materials, learn practical upcycling skills, and encouraging more conscious choices around textiles and making.

Gather & Grow will end with a Spring Makers Market on Saturday 25th April - put it in your diary! Local artists and makers will be sellign their beautiful creations.
