GSHS is brining Churchill Downs to Griffin, GA! Join us in the Mary Smalley Garden at the Bailey Tebault House to celebrate the most exciting two minutes in sports with great food, music, fashion, and fun while supporting the Griffin-Spalding Historical Society.Event Details: Food, Drinks, Live Bluegrass, Hat Competition, Raffles!
Food: Enjoy a three course meal with appetizers, Southern Pit's Pork, Brisket, and sides, plus dessert of Cobbler and Banana Pudding
Drinks included with ticket: Non Alcoholic Drinks, including Virgin Mint Juleps!
Bar Service: No-Host Bar available, Drink tickets may be purchased at the Drink & Raffle Ticket Table.

The Bar will feature Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Champagne, Beer (Import, Domestic Lager and IPA) Vodka, Bourbon, Gin and mixers. Our speciality cocktails are: The Mint Julep (bourbon, simple syrup, mint), the Woodford Reserve Spire: Bourbon, lemonade, and cranberry juice, garnished with a lemon and the Kentucky Oaks Lily: vodka, cranberry juice, orange liqueur, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
Winner’s Circle Drink Package - $50 - This package may be purchased in advance or at the event and includes a Souvenir Stainless Steel Mint Julep Cup, Unlimited Beer, Wine, Mixed Drinks, and Specialty Cocktails for one guest
Live Music
- Lost Horizon, a Bluegrass Band featuring Maggie & Brian Stephens and friends from Monroe, Georgia, will keep the garden lively with the sounds of classic bluegrass. Enjoy toe-tapping picking, rich harmonies, and traditional favorites as they perform before the race and keep the celebration going after the winner crosses the finish line.
