Workshops for carers from every community in Derby

Your experience can help improve carer support in Derby.

Carers play a vital role in our city. However, many carers — especially those from different cultures, communities and backgrounds — are not getting the support they need.

Derby Carers Connect is working in partnership with Derby City Council and local carers services to improve how support works across Derby.

These workshops are practical, welcoming and focused on action.

Together, we will:

• Share experiences of caring in Derby
• Explore why some carers struggle to access support
• Identify gaps and barriers
• Work together
• Develop realistic ideas for improvement
• Agree clear next steps

This is not a formal meeting.
You will not be put on the spot.
You can speak as much or as little as you wish.
You can also share your views in writing.

We welcome carers from all communities in Derby — including people of different ethnicities, faiths, ages, disabilities, genders and sexual orientations.

After the workshop series, we will:

• Share a clear summary
• Confirm agreed actions
• Explain how progress will be reported

Your time and experience matter. We are committed to turning discussion into real improvements.

On-street metered parking is available on Charnwood Street and nearby streets such as The Avenue and Leopold Street, and there is a small NCP car park at the corner of The Avenue and Leopold Street.
