The Savannah Area Flute Association is excited to welcome Ukrainian flutist Denis Savelyev! He will be performing a recital free and open to all and will follow that with a masterclass for flutists.

About Denis:
Denis Savelyev Ukrainian-born is an acclaimed international soloist and chamber musician known for his remarkable talent and ability to engage audiences worldwide. With awards such as the New York Flute Club Competition the National Flute Association Young Artist Competition and the ‘Rising Star’ at the 2021 Galway Flute Festival Denis brings a unique charisma to the stage that resonates deeply with the audience. Denis Savelyev is Altus Flutes Artist.
Originally from Lviv Ukraine Denis began his musical path at the age of five. He honed his skills at prestigious institutions such as the Gnesin Academy of Music in Moscow and Mannes College in New York. He holds Master’s degrees in music and curatorial studies from Bard College and is currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree in music at the Peabody Conservatory.
His artistic journey includes participation in the renowned Marlboro Music Festival in 2023 and 2024 further solidifying his reputation in the classical music community. Denis has performed at celebrated venues like Carnegie Hall Suntory Hall in Tokyo and the Kennedy Center collaborating with esteemed conductors such as Neeme Järvi Fabio Luisi JoAnn Falletta and Gerard Schwarz.
Denis’s orchestral experience includes significant roles with the Mariinsky Theater in Vladivostok The Orchestra Now and the Palm Beach Symphony showcasing his versatility as an ensemble musician.
Member of the Ukrainian-Polish Duo with Radosia Jasik whose debut album recorded in Italy was released in 2024 and has already received excellent reviews.
Beyond performing Denis Savelyev is passionate about education and dedicates his time to inspiring the next generation of musicians. Denis Savelyev continues to explore new artistic avenues enriching the cultural landscape and touching the hearts of audiences around the globe.
