Join Celebrity Pastry Chef Dawn of Ravy Cakes for a fun and festive Mother's Day Cake Decorating Class!
Celebrate Mother’s Day in style with our elegant and creative cake decorating experience! In this hands-on class, you’ll design a stunning heart-shaped cake inspired by the chic theme of Denim, Diamonds & Pearls—where rustic charm meets timeless glamour.
Perfect for beginners and cake lovers, Chef Dawn will guide you step-by-step through essential decorating techniques. Students will learn how to properly crumb coat their cake, apply a smooth final layer of buttercream, and explore beautiful buttercream piping techniques to add texture and dimension. You’ll then bring your vision to life by embellishing your cake with pearl accents, shimmering details, and decorative touches that capture the essence of this stylish theme.
As you decorate, enjoy a relaxing tea experience—making this the perfect outing to celebrate moms, create memories, and indulge your sweet side.
A Happy Mother's Day Cake Topper will be included.
Each guest/team will leave with a beautifully decorated cake and the skills and confidence to recreate these techniques at home.
A sweet celebration of love, creativity, and a little sparkle!
Cake decorating tools are included for use during class. A cake box will be provided to take your cake home.

Meet Your Instructor:
Dawn Alston of Ravy Cakes, a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native, grew up in Northern Virginia where she started baking at the age of six. Dawn holds an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts and has competed in many local baking events and in 2018 she competed on Food Network’s Wedding Cake Championship. All The Details:
- Age Level: 7+ with a parent/adult
- Skill Level: Beginner
- Each ticket includes 1 adult and 1 child. If you wish to bring more than 1 child to the class, there will be an additional charge of $100. Your 2nd child will receive their own cake so you will go home with 2 cakes. Please contact Fran's directly to purchase your ticket to ensure we can accommodate an additional child.
- All supplies and tools are provided for use during class.
- We will provide a box for each team to take their cake home in
- The class may be a little messy so we recommend bringing an apron.
- If you have long hair, you may want to tie it back.
- Class requires a minimum of 2 teams and there is a maximum of 5 teams. In the event of insufficient enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
- Class will run approximately 3 hours. Please note that the class is hands-on and may run over or under schedule.
Cancellation Policy:
Changes and cancellations...we know life happens so we try our best to be flexible while being fair to our instructors who purchase supplies and bake for each student. Full refunds or credits are available for cancellations made at least 5 days prior to the class. If you need to cancel after 5 days but at least 48 hours in advance, we can offer you a credit for a future class. We cannot offer any credits for cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled class.
