About this Event
Move beyond tea bags and learn how to make a delicious, medicinal, loose-leaf herbal tea blend! In this class, we will discuss a handful of common herbs for tea: their uses, flavors, and energies. We will smell and taste the herbs and learn what they add to a blend.
We will discuss different considerations for the process of making tea including infusing versus boiling, the temperature of the water, and the length of time infused. We will talk about the safety of herbal tea in general and when to be cautious.
Part information and science, part sensory exploration, this class will be as playful as it is educational!
Mo Katz-Christy (they/them) is a queer Ashkenazi Jewish herbalist born and raised in Cambridge, MA, on unceded Massachusett and Wampanoag land. They approach herbalism by connecting folks to the knowledge they already have about their body and herbs through working with kitchen medicine, ancestral traditions, and mulberries falling on the sidewalk.
Mo graduated from the Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism in 2022 with a certificate in clinical herbalism. In addition to teaching, they work one on one with clients and offer herbal landscaping. You can find out more about their work at
