Come to the Community Wellbeing Space at Westside Plaza to hear and share experiences of accessing healthcare, understand behind the scenes of NHS funding cuts from doctors and researchers, find solidarity in struggle, imagine together and fight towards better healthcare for all.
1-2pm Community Meal and Conversation:
You are invited to talk to others in your community about the journey of your data from GPs to research alongside researchers from The University of Edinburgh over a free vegan meal by Queen Vital.
2-2:45pm Talk and Mapping Data Islands:
Iona Berge of The University of Edinburgh will discuss why people don't always go to the doctors for depression, before mapping out what health data we share and why.
3-4pm Cuts and Austerity Public Forum:
Behind the scenes insight into NHS funding cuts with doctors and researchers, with opportunity to share your own experiences and perspectives.
4-5pm Workshop With Nurses of Colour:
Exploration of racism within the NHS led by registered mental health nurse and Nurses United member Myra Ariyaratnam.
5-7pm Clarity Open Mic
A casual, welcoming and supportive platform to share songs, poems, stories or reflections from the day, facilitated by CWC member Sarah Norman. The theme is "clarity", but all contributions are welcome!
