About this Event
TaxBackandCraic (a.k.a. Peter Mooney) is a tax advice service specializing in delivering friendly and accessible seminars to artists, performers and musicians. Navigating the financial landscape as a freelancer can be daunting, and TaxBackandCraic is here to make it simpler.
Peter graduated from Rose Bruford in 2014 and has been a working Actor/Musician every year since. Having lived the unique challenges faced by creative professionals, Peter speaks the language. By cutting through silly financial jargon, this genuinely empowers artists to approach their careers with confidence. With a focus on real-world examples and an approachable style, his seminar will help demystify the world of self-employment and tax for the next generation of freelance artists. Who knew Tax could be a bit of Craic!
This session has three parts with an optional follow up:
- Conversations about ...freelance finance: a presentation and discussion that will run 11am-12:30pm
- Lunch will be provided
- A working party afternoon where you can work alongside other artists on a financial aspect of your practice with support from Tax Back and Craic and your peers.
There will be the opportunity for people who attend the session to book onto a 60 minute 1-2-1 session with Peter at a future date where he can support you with specific tax, budgeting or financial advice related to your freelance practice.
"I thought it was very clear and also entertaining. I enjoyed it and learnt a lot at the same time"
"It was super helpful, first time I have learnt anything about tax really and how it affects me as a performer"
"It was actually fun – which I definitely didn’t expect!"
