All demonstrations are included within the entry fee for Art in Penallt and there are 2 demonstrations each day, morning and afternoon, all taking place at the Bush Inn Penallt.

Demonstration brief: Creating texture and layer
Kim's work is inspired by the geology of the South Wales Coalfield - the layers of coal and ironstone, the distinctive character of the different layers. She will be demonstrating 2 techniques - the creation of texture by burning the surface of the porcelain and the creation of layers within the clay, and the application of faults, pressure distortions and cuts, like the way that plate tectonics distorts the group under our feet. Having made different slabs of clay, Kim will create some forms to show off the geological patterns.
