Event detailsOur theme for this year will be the sentiment "We have always been here". We heartily encourage the incorporation of PRIDE colors (Rainbow or the Pride flag of your choice) with your pageantry.
From the PrideFEST page:
“Middletown PrideFEST is the State of Connecticut’s largest pride event held in downtown Middletown, Connecticut, on the first Saturday of June (6/6). PrideFEST starts at 12 pm and ends at 10 pm. PrideFEST is an all-afternoon street festival that includes family friendly fun and activities for all ages. PrideFEST consists of the Middletown Pride March, Pride Rally, Pride Showcase Concert, and a Tea Dance. Vendors and food trucks will be located on Main Street. Don’t forget to stop by the Middletown Pride Merchandise Tent to purchase your exclusive Middletown Pride swag, sign up for our newsletter, and learn about what we do all year. PrideFEST draws over 35,000 individuals, 130 vendors, and 80 marching groups from all over New England to downtown Middletown.”
It is recommended to arrive at the event early as parking will likely be abysmal due to the number of overall attendees. There is typically a large parking lot available off Dingwall Street just off of Main Street.
Early arrivers can join us in Union Park at the south end of Main Street. The march starts at the north end of Main Street (about a ¾ mile walk) on PEASE AVE between North St. and Stack St. Plan to be at the parade start point between 12-12:30. The parade will commence at 1 PM. The parade ends at Union Park.
The entire site is outdoors. The park has paved walkways and handicap ramps at most intersections.
We acknowledge that some people may have concerns for personal safety, and we agree that your safety is paramount. We can say from our experiences of the 2024 and 2025 events, that the local Middletown Police, Emergency Services, and Fire Departments are ALL very supportive of this event and maintain a positive, high profile at this event. The vendors and attendees are wonderful. This should be an amazing day!
The weather can be mercurial, so plan to bring some covering in case of rain. We hope that it will be a beautiful day so that we can showcase all the amazing pageantry that makes the Society the amazing experience that it is. Step out in your spiffiest kit, bring your personal arms and banners for display and plan to have a wonderful day. Please plan to bring your own food and drinks as needed. There are many food and drink vendors available for purchase (as well as a wide variety of restaurants in downtown Middletown).
IMPORTANT NOTES: Consider this a DRY site. There are establishments on Main Street if you'd like a drink, but nothing may be open in the public areas. You MAY NOT throw things to attendees. If you wish to give things away, you must HAND anything to the attendees.
