His first ever trip to Australia, Demitri brings his passion and expertise in Konpa and Urban Kiz to our shores. His first stop is in Perth, and we have an awesome chance to learn from this quietly spoken giant of the dance world.
Structured as Masterclasses, the weekend is is built on two halves, a comprehensive introduction of the addictive Konpa, and an expansion of your Urban Kiz repertoire

Dancer's Bio - Demitri
Haitian born and raised, Demitri is a champion of the culture and and music of his homeland. After moving to Canada for his education, Demitri's love of dance and teaching has led to him travelling and touring North America and Asia
With over a decade of teaching experience in Kizomba dance, Demitri has honed his skills under the tutelage of industry leaders such as Maestre Petchu, Curtis Seldon, and Moun. Guided by the principle that exceptional outcomes demand exceptional effort, Demitri has elevated his expertise and artistry to remarkable heights.
Now an internationally acclaimed instructor, Demitri focuses on enhancing body awareness, control, and musicality in his students. He is teaching Konpa, Kizomba, and UrbanKiz classes across major Canadian cities and renowned Asian metropolises, including Beijing, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul and more
Masterclass Breakdown
Saturday is for Konpa
(Pronounced Kompa due to the rules of French pronunciation)
Designed to take you from a novice/beginner to dancing with fluidity and musicality
Establish your Konpa fundamentals with a Bootcamp in the morning, giving you the foundation of Konpa, and it's spicier cousin, Konpa Gouyard
In Musicality and Intermediate Concepts, you expand your Konpa vocabulary, while solidifying its structure and grounding. A special emphasis is placed on the delineation between Konpa and Gouyard, in both movement and music
In the evening, the first workshop of Barrio Latino will be an introduction to his playful moves in Urban Kiz
Sunday is for Urban Kiz
This is an introduction into Demitri's smooth and charismatic style of Urban Kiz he has taught Internationally
The Urban Kiz Flow Masterclass dives into the execution of smooth vs staccato movements and transitions
The Urban Kiz Musicality Masterclass is a deeper dive into how you express and highlight parts of the music with your movements and timing. Predicting the changes in the music, and how to enhance them
