About this Event
Did you know that up to 45% of dementia cases could be delayed or prevented by addressing 14 modifiable risk factors identified in The Lancet medical journal? This interactive workshop explores these risk factors and how evidence‑based lifestyle changes can meaningfully reduce long‑term dementia risk. Participants will take part in hands‑on, group‑based activities using Drs. Sherzai’s NEURO framework (Nutrition, Exercise, Unwind, Restore, Optimise) to develop practical, personalised strategies for brain health.
This session is collaborative, reflective, and empowering — helping you understand what you can control and how small, consistent habits support cognitive health over time.
Please visit www.nourishwithkhai.co.nz for more information regarding this workshop.
This listing is for Part 1 of the two‑part series.
Part 1 introduces dementia, key types, and how genetics influence risk. Participants learn The Lancet’s 14 modifiable factors and why midlife is a crucial window for prevention. We then explore the first NEURO pillar, Nutrition, focusing on balanced eating for cognitive resilience. Through interactive group activities, participants reflect on habits, build Balanced Plates, use real‑life examples, and create practical ideas they can apply immediately, setting up Part 2.
