The Dementia Friends training provides a basic understanding of the various kinds of dementia, early symptoms of dementia, and how we may communicate effectively with people who are living with dementia, as well as provide support to family members and caregivers of those who have dementia. It’s rooted in treating others, regardless of their abilities, with respect and compassion, with some specific suggestions about how we accomplish that. It’s an informal discussion that includes information about the many free services offered by the Memory Care Alliance of Santa Fe. The interesting intersection with Buddhist thought is that many people with dementia live entirely in the present moment, and by doing so, provide an amazing model for those of us who strive to do so.In-person & Online:
