About this Event

Relationships: some are healthy, and others are not. Nobody enters a relationship wishing it to turn unhealthy. Yet, sometimes we may come to a realisation that our loved ones, or maybe even ourselves, are in one. How do relationships turn unhealthy?

How we connect with one another emotionally could provide us some of the answers to our questions. These patterns, also known as attachment styles, usually take shape in our early childhood and can have a big role in shaping how we behave and what we expect in our adult relationships.

Join our upcoming Delve & Dialogue session with psychologist and lecturer, Bernice Lim. Explore how the patterns of connection we learn in our growing years can impact the relationships we nurture in our adult lives. By understanding these styles, we can spot patterns that might be tripping us up, and take steps to build healthier, more satisfying connections.

Date: 11 July 2024, Thursday
Time: 7.30PM – 9.00PM
Location: The School of Positive Psychology
*Doors open at 7.00pm

In this session, we will explore:

  • What are some patterns of healthy and unhealthy relationships with our caregivers and romantic partners?
  • What are attachment styles?
  • How do attachment styles impact the development of healthy and unhealthy relationships?
  • How do learned behaviours influence the type of relationships we form?
  • Is it possible to adapt an unhealthy attachment style to a healthy one?

We look forward to seeing you at the event and having a lively, educational, and enjoyable discussion with Bernice!
