Are you new to the SCA and wanting your own (very basic) garb? This class is aimed at helping people with little or no sewing experience make basic T-tunics, aka the required "attempt at pre-1600 garb."
However, if you are more experienced and want to make T-tunics for Gold Key, you are welcome as well.
Or just come socialize!
There will be at least one sewing machine, additional machines would be very welcome.
There will be some fabric available, in blue and in green. Any other color you will have to bring yourself.
If you are bringing your own fabric, it needs to be medium weight solid-colored cotton or linen fabric (think bedsheet weight). Launder it first in hot water.
Michaels in DeKalb has some -- it's sold as "quilting" or "broadcloth" fabric. It's 45" wide, and will take 4 1/2 to 5 yards to make a floor or ankle length tunic.
We will be in the Zimmerman room on the lower level.
