Swampy, hypnotic, bluesy rockin’ soul beats! Haunting, forbidden melodies! Secret spells from Beyond! Lose your mind to the feverish bonfire Beat!
The prime-cut Deja Voodoo lineup is Walter Vanek, Scott Newman, Michael Bufalini & Jeremy Carlson - PLUS special guests Susie Q & the Tips!
“Muddy” Walter Vanek grew up on a mud farm in south Mississippi. The farm cultivated a special form of mud that was used to make dinnerware, furniture and building materials. His life was all about mud: he ate from mud plates, slept on mud beds, and sat on mud chairs, etc. At the age of three months, he made his own mud guitar and has been playing ever since. He enjoys all types of music and hopes when he grows up to be a professional mudslinger in Las Vegas.
Scott Newman’s origins are murkier. The latest rumor has a Scottish muff merchant having a fling with a New Orleans voodoo princess (not yet Queen), whose progeny disappeared before showing up years later as a touring Zydeco van mechanic (specializing in Ford Econoline V8’s, paid in pints of Chivas Regal and goat cheese). Dead giveaway: fake forearm tattoos.
Michael “Heartfelt Scream” Bufalini is the stage name for Cassius Thermador, an immigrant from Dayton Ohio who lived briefly in Zimbabwe to study floral design. Known primarily as the ex-nephew of the inventor of the fitted sheet, his musical career has been slowly catching up.
Jeremy Carlson (April 27, 1922 – present) is an American movie, stage and television actor. Carlson played Oscar Madison in the television series "The Odd Couple" from 1970 to 1975. He played the title character in the television series "Quincy, M.E." from 1976 to 1983.
Robert Freeland… We really have no idea where “Robert." hails from. He doesn't say much. We're guessing his last name is an alias of some sort?
See you on the dance floor, babydoll!
