About this Event

DEI: Diversity, equity and inclusion are three different but interconnected concepts. They work together to create an environment of respect and fairness. It involves initiatives promoting the equal access, opportunity, employment and sense of belonging of underrepresented people in the workplace and faith community.

The series consists of the following workshops:

Socio-Economic Status and Race: The Conversations We Avoid

We will examine stereotypes about class and the systems that are obstacles to socio-economic advancement. We will then focus on racism and its negative impact on our society.

Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 12:30pm -2pm

Gender and Sexuality: What Are We So Afraid Of?

We will become more comfortable with the latest conversational terms connected to gender and sexuality and myths surrounding gender identity and sexuality are discussed and debunked.

Implicit Bias and Microaggressions: More Than A Small Mistake

This workshop explains why we make uncomfortable mistakes and how we can take steps to recognize, confront, and hopefully begin to free ourselves from our own biases.

Allies and Mentors: How To Use Advantage For Good

This workshop presents an action plan for using our secure position in society to uplift others. Participants look to where they have the most impact and how they can confront hate and bias.
