Join us for an evening of connection, expression, and creative storytelling at DeepChats, where we create a safe, open space to share experiences through spoken word. Whether you’re working on a poem, telling a story, spitting some bars, or just sharing a moment, this is your chance to be heard.
After bringing the Christmas spirit to the Clissold Arms, we’re back for our first session in 2026! Let's talk about family matters, because family matters!
What to Expect:
* Themed Haikus: Each month, we feature a different themed Haiku, which has become a staple of our sessions after the fun they brought at our Christmas special. Share your Haiku before performing a piece you're working on or cherish.
*January's Haiku Theme: Family Matters
* What is a Haiku? A traditional three-line Japanese poem with a 5-7-5 syllable structure. While it often focuses on nature or seasons, modern Haikus can be about anything and capture a moment in time.
* Spoken Word & Performance: Recite a poem, share a verse, tell a story, sing, or share your experiences. We welcome all forms of expression - this is a safe space to be yourself.
* Open to All Topics: While the theme for the evening is centred around family matters, feel free to share whatever is on your mind. This is your space to express your joys, struggles, and everything in between.

Hello, I’m Deip, your host for the evening. DeepChats was born from my love of spoken word and my experiences as a single father navigating separation. My goal is to provide a space for anyone going through tough times to feel heard, supported, and uplifted. Let’s share the highs and lows of life together.
