About this Event
Deep Talk with Wendy Wood – “Good Habits, Bad Habits: The Science of Making Positive Changes that Stick”

How do we build good habits that stick?

Not working overtime, meditating, spending more time with loved ones, eating healthier … It all sounds so reasonable and obvious, but … how do I do it?

How do I get into a new habit and then stick with it longterm? For 30 years, this has been one of psychologist Wendy Wood’s central research questions. Her book on how to get rid of bad habits, “Good Habits, Bad Habits: The Science of Making Positive Changes that Stick” advanced to bestseller status, and its success proves it: The topic is on the minds of a great many people.

We are pleased to welcome Wendy Wood to our Deep Talk to learn from her how we can change our behavior and form new, useful habits, but also why habits are so important in the first place. She will explain which tricks are particularly effective, why some people find it easier than others, and how we too can become more successful at it.

In addition, the psychologist will dispel the myth of willpower and explain why we usually do not fail due to a lack of discipline. We can expect an evening that will certainly motivate many participants to reflect on their own habits and to develop more satisfying behaviors with the new knowledge.

The conversation is led by philosopher Martin Ebeling.

The event will be held in English.
