Deep Forest is the first French group to win a Grammy Award in 1995 for the album Bohème (Best World Music Album). They also won a World Music Award and an MTV Award. Founded by composer, musician and producer Eric Mouquet, the band is considered one of the pioneering groups in electronic and world music.
Deep Forest has inspired numerous EDM artists, including Robert Babicz, Sainte Vie, Fakear, SAMIFATI, Onuka and many more. As a producer and composer, Eric Mouquet has worked with Josh Groban, Herbie Hancock, Peter Gabriel, Joe Zawinul, Lokua Kanza, Fakear, Blick Bassy, Gaudi, Chitose Hajime, Rahul Sharma, Sa Ding Ding and many other artists from around the world.
In addition to his musical activities, Mouquet is also a passionate astronomer and is known for his impressive recordings of deep space.
Deep Forest subtly combines electronic, ethnic, jazzy, classical and epic sounds to create a unique composition inspired by world music.
