What makes a great Gouda? Our cheesemonger Emily went to find out firsthand. Fresh off a two-week immersion in the Netherlands — working alongside our Dutch partners at the legendary Fromagerie L'Amuse — she's back with stories, secrets, and a serious tasting of cheese.
Join us for an evening dedicated entirely to Gouda: tasting through a curated selection of Dutch wheels, from buttery young rounds to deeply complex aged varieties with crystalline crunch and caramel depth. Along the way, Emily will walk you through the centuries-old craft of Gouda production, what she saw on the creamery floors in Holland, and why not all Goudas are created equal.
Whether you think you know Gouda or you're meeting it for the first time, this class will change how you see — and taste — one of the world's great cheeses.
