ABOUT THE ART:
"On the Banks of the Wabash," the luminous art piece, inspired by the Wabash River, depicts a current flowing from the City’s past into its surging future. The word “LAFAYETTE” is cut into the pinnacle of the sculpture’s arches and will be illuminated to create a glowing lightbox that will contrast against the night’s sky.
The art piece was funded entirely through private donations. Thank you to the many sponsors who have made this Bicentennial public art project come to life. We can't wait to see this amazing piece light up such a prominent pathway into our historic downtown!
