-DECIPHER- Black metal from Athens, Greece
Decipher is a black metal band formed in Athens, Greece in 2017. Their debut EP, Of Fire and Brimstone, was released in 2019 and marked the beginning of an active live presence. Since then, the band has shared the stage with notable acts such as Arcturus, Wolves in the Throne Room, Misþyrming, and others, and has also appeared at Chania Rock Festival and other local festivals.
In late 2019, Decipher entered the studio to record their debut full-length album, Arcane Paths to Resurrection, which was released on April 21, 2023 via Transcending Obscurity Records. In support of the album, the band embarked on the “Worshippers of the Void” mini tour in May 2023 alongside Shadowmass, performing in Bulgaria and Northern Greece.
The band continued to expand its live presence with the self-organized “Death Worship” tour in May 2024, followed by the “Black Curse” European tour in September 2025, significantly broadening the territories they have performed in, including multiple Balkan and Central European countries as well as Germany.
Decipher are currently preparing the release of their second full-length album, ΘΕΛΗΜΑ, scheduled for March 20 via Transcending Obscurity Records. The band remains highly active, continuously performing live while further refining and intensifying their uncompromising black metal vision.
