Did you know 7 species of woodpecker reside in Georgia year round, but an 8th species joins us for the winter? Join us this December to learn who this 8th species is, and why they fly across the country to spend the winter in Georgia. We’ll discuss woodpecker anatomy, look at some skulls, and learn what we can do to make winter living in Georgia easier on our woodpecker friends.Online registration required. Non-members are $5 per participant; Free for members.
Parking is at the Fayette County Library (1821 Heritage Pkwy, Fayetteville, GA 30214) in the back left of the parking lot. There is a flag that marks the entry to the short trail that will lead you up to the nature center.
