For more than 60 years, Betty LaDuke has traversed the globe as an artist and activist.A lifetime of travel and heartfelt respect for cultures and people around the world inspire the paintings and prints of renowned American artist Betty LaDuke. The vision for the rich colors and imagery of her work comes from dozens of trips to Asia, Africa, and Latin America where she has lived and worked among people whose lives differ dramatically from what LaDuke experienced as a child of immigrant parents in the Bronx, New York. Her work celebrates cultural diversity, equality, and caring for the earth.
LaDuke’s work marries art and humanitarianism to encourage learning about the root causes of hunger and poverty. Her art is a teaching tool that brings students closer to the realities of the world in which we live.
LaDuke’s works are available for display in galleries, university libraries, and other venues where the message of peace, hope, and self-reliance for all might be heard.
We are thrilled to open up our office to the community and to display Betty’s series “Trees of Life Landscape: A Feminine, Mythical View” for our first First Friday event. We look forward to seeing you!
