Preheat your ovens, the yummiest social of the year is almost here! Enjoy a night of good vibes, great music, and delicious treats at the 13th Annual First Fridays Holiday Social & Cookie Contest! The fun starts at 8PM with a beginner salsa lesson, followed by social dancing and cookie contest from 9PM until midnight. Admission is $15 and includes refreshments. Anyone wanting to participate in the cookie contest should bring a minimum of 3 dozen cookies for each recipe they wish to enter. All cookies must be home-baked "from scratch", not from a mix! Enter as many cookie recipes as you wish, but bear in mind that each cookie is as a potential vote, so cookies should be on the small side (tasters don't often finish larger cookies). "Cookie" is loosely defined as a small, flat-ish, sweet baked good, distinct from brownies and cakes. (No-bake treats will be considered on a case-by-case basis.) Cookies must be registered no later than 9:15PM to be entered in the contest. The contest commences at 9:30PM and ends around 10:30PM. Three winners will be chosen by popular vote. Prizes include bakeware, gift certificates, bragging rights, and the eternal admiration of your friends!

Join Mezclando Milwaukee every "first Friday" of the month at the beautiful Delaware House studio for good vibes and great music in a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. This event is "by dancers, for dancers" and includes a lesson, light refreshments, social dancing, and occasional performances. First Fridays are alcohol-free; youth under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. Come see what makes this event a local mainstay since 2009! Cost is $15 (cash or cc).
