About this Event

Join on June 8, 2026, at 7:00pm as we welcome author, filmmaker, and social justice activist to the store to discuss her latest book, .

Grammy-Award winning artist, Salvador Santana, will start the event with a piano solo.

Across stories of motherhood, heritage, faith, global activism, and spiritual growth, Deborah takes readers on a journey through heartbreak, healing, and the powerful process of becoming whole. From working with Kenya’ s Daraja Academy to the Museum of the African Diaspora, from family loss to profound reinvention, she reveals how the fire that nearly consumed her became the source of her rebirth. Equal parts inspirational memoir, spiritual teaching, and women’ s empowerment, Loving the Fire is for anyone standing at a crossroads— ready to shed old versions of themselves and step into a fuller, freer life.

Deborah will be in conversation with , an Emmy-nominated and Critics Choice winning actress/producer known for her powerful performances in LOVECRAFT COUNTRY and SMOKE.
