About this Event
Tickets on sale April 8!
Join Arts & Education at the Hoyt and The M**der Mystery Company (MMC) at Stone Castle Abbey on May 15, 8–11 pm, to say “I do” to danger in the 1920s “married to the mob” themed M**der mystery, Death of a Gangster! When two powerful families merge together, someone is bound to lose power, which means someone else will lose their life!
MMC actors mixed into the crowd will stir up clues, chaos, and plenty of laughs during the first hour as the mystery unfolds. The actors will be disguised as fellow guests - mingling, scheming and quietly dropping clues as they pull attendees into their shenanigans! So keep your eyes and ears open as you grab a drink from the cash bar, indulge in sweet temptations at the cookie table and hit up the mystery punch boards and blind raffles. There may be a need to reference those experiences later!
Guests will be seated in teams of 8 with charcuterie boards at 9 pm and the theater begins! Each team will have two hours to solve the crime before the last wedding cookie crumbles! However, you won’t be solving the crime from just your seat. The show is performed in three 30 minute acts with 15 minute investigation breaks in between. During the acts, audience members are pulled into each scene. During the investigation breaks, you’ll get up to gather more clues.
Perfect for date night, friend groups, or anyone who loves a good whodunit with a sense of humor, this immersive fundraiser promises laughs, surprises, and plenty of twists before the killer is revealed. Guests are encouraged to dress like the cat’s meow in flapper fringe, pinstripes, and mob-era glam for added fun. Awards will be given for Best Suspect, Best Performer, and Best Dressed, “Dead Last Place” and "Detectives of the Night”!
Admission is $50 per person by reservation and includes one drink ticket and refreshments. Register as a team of eight to be seated together, or we’ll introduce you to a new group of friends.
All proceeds support Arts & Education at the Hoyt’s free community outreach, expanding access to creative experiences across the region through free daily admission to the galleries, off-site exhibits, free school and after-school programs, free community events and festivals, class scholarships and more. Dress sharp, think fast, and don’t trust the bridal party!
