A friendly gathering to talk about death over tea and cake. Friday, April 19, 7:00-8:30 pm. Facilitated by Daryl Lynn Ross
About this Event

Death happens to us all, yet we avoid talking about it. A Death Café is a gathering at which people, often strangers, discuss death and drink tea and eat cake and other yummy foods. The discussion can be surprisingly lively, interesting and honest.

What does death mean to you; how do you think about it, or not; what are your attitudes about what death means in your life? What feelings does the reality of death bring up in you?

The discussion will be facilitated, but not highly structured. It is a discussion group, not a grief or bereavement support group or group counselling session. It is an opportunity for everyone in attendance to reflect on the reality of our own dying and death. All are welcome. The group will be facilitated in English; discussion in French and English is welcome.

We will meet at The Padua Centre, 1950 St. Antoine West (one block from Georges Vanier metro).

A donation to cover costs is requested, not required; suggested $5-10. Pre-registration would be appreciated, although is not required.

Daryl Lynn Ross is a teacher of Buddhist meditation, a former university chaplain, and has completed a certificate in Mindfulness Informed End-of Life Care through University of Toronto SCS and in Contemplative Care through the NY Zen Centre.
