death & grief queer meet-up is turning one!
whether you’ve been with us from the start or this will be your first meet-up, join us saturday may 25th at cheesman park to celebrate!
bring food, snacks, games, anything you’d like to share. we'll play the death deck, reflect on past meet-ups, share food, the rest of the time i just wanna vibe and hit a ball around. come play! relax! ball! enjoy sticking your feet in the grass of a cemetery turned park!! (oop)
community altar: i'd love to cultivate a small altar to celebrate the compassion and vulnerability of our sweet community over the past year. together we've moved through difficult and heavy conversations, we've cried, we've held each other, we've listened carefully, we've laughed hard, we've created beautiful art, zines, jewlery, and poems, we've learned about each others struggles, love, grief, heartbreak, and about our own. i'm so incredibley grateful for us and proud of us.
bring something sweet you'd like to add. it could be flowers, food, a piece of candy, a candle, or a item with a sweet memory. you'll be able to take your item back home at the end if you'd like, but please plan to keep it there for the duration of the meet up. it's important to keep the energy together once it's started.
if you need to leave before we wrap up, you can bring something you're happy to leave behind or let me know and i'll keep your item safe to pick up at another time. alternatively, if you don't arrive by the time we're making the altar feel free to place something in it when you get there.

this gathering is not a support group. my intention is to provide a cozy space for queer and trans community to gather in mutal grief and cultivate joy through being together.
about the host: sky (they/them) is a queer autistic non-binary artist, tattooer, plant friend practitioner, and aspiring death guide. their intention for death & grief queer meet-up is to bring those moving through grief together, normalize collaborative conversations of death, and offer resources to community. this gathering is not a support group.
