The City of Dearborn proudly hosts its 100th Memorial Day Parade, a long-standing tradition that honors the nation’s fallen heroes while bringing the community together in remembrance. The parade is presented in collaboration with the Dearborn Allied War Veterans Council (DAWVC) and draws thousands of spectators, featuring over 90 organizations, veteran's groups, marching bands, and community partners

Date: Monday, May 25, 2026
Military Funeral Procession: 9:30 a.m.
Parade Start: Approximately 10:00 a.m.
Remembrance Ceremony: Following the parade at Veterans Park & War Memorial, in front of the Henry Ford Centennial Library, 16301 Michigan Ave, with remarks from Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud and the parade Grand Marshal
Grand Marshal
The Grand Marshal for the centennial parade is Captain Houssain “Sam” T. Sareini, a Dearborn native and distinguished U.S. Navy officer. His career includes commanding the USS Nitze, serving as Reactor Officer aboard the USS Harry S. Truman, and earning numerous military honors such as the Bronze Star and Combat Action Medal
Parade Route
The parade route runs along Michigan Avenue, beginning at Schaefer Road and ending at Veterans Park & War Memorial in front of the Henry Ford Centennial Library. Spectators can line the streets along Michigan Avenue to view the procession.
Participation
Organizations, marching bands, and community or school groups are invited to participate. Interested participants must submit a Parade Participant Application and Hold Harmless Agreement by April 17, 2026. Applications can be submitted digitally via the City of Dearborn website or in paper form at the Dearborn Administrative Center or Veterans Resource Center
Additional Information
The parade is supported by sponsors including Ford Community Relations, Nova Advisory Group, Silver Woods Farm, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, and Village Ford. The event is free and open to the public, offering a meaningful way to honor veterans and celebrate community heritage.
