After his barnstorming appearance at last year’s festival, we had to get Dean Wilson back to Filey, put a drink in his hand and let him off the leash. As they said about the Titanic, this will be a night to remember.
Dean is not just Withernsea's second best poet; he is also a painter and a pebbler. To misquote Dean’s anarchic poems, he can take you up a lighthouse, give you a dose of East Coast Fever and make you so happy that you would not be safe on the streets.
We can’t wait for his forthcoming novel, Don’t F**k With Me, I’ve Got Friends in the Brontë Society. Oh, and buy Dean’s tote bag – a send-up of the famous Skegness fisherman. On the East Yorkshire version, Dean skips down the beach beneath the legend: ‘Withernsea is SO Poetic’.
