This workshop will include speakers from Alberta Environment and Protected Areas, Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation and Red Deer County Staff to cover a variety of resources to help you manage drought conditions on your farm. Topics will include:
- Water Access & Emergency Supports
Provincial programs to help producers access water during dry conditions, including temporary livestock water assistance, water licences, approvals, and temporary diversion licenses. - Agricultural Water Programs
Funding and support for on‑farm water development, and long‑term water solutions. - On‑the‑Ground Stewardship Solutions
How ALUS Red Deer County can support landowners with pasture, livestock, and crop resilience during dry conditions. - Fire Risk & Emergency Preparedness
What dry conditions mean for wildfire risk in agricultural areas and how to prepare and reduce hazards. - Mental Health & Community Supports
Resources and support for managing stress, uncertainty, and mental health impacts related to drought.
