March TableTalk/Potluck Sunday, March 15, 12:00-1:30 pm “De-escalating Tense Situations in Healthy Ways that Empower People,” led by Ryan Dickson, Director of Training and Staff Development for CommUnity Crisis Center. "When people are not at their best, interactions can be tough. Escalating emotions from those we serve can in turn impact us. As caring people, we can feel lost on how to best meet their needs while maintaining our own safety and respect, physically and emotionally. While possibly tense and uncomfortable, these situations can be navigated in healthy ways that empower both you and the people you support.”
Ryan Dickson is Director of Training and Staff Development at CommUnity Crisis Services. He has trained crisis counselors in emotional regulation and de-escalation techniques for seven years. He has developed training for agencies such as IC Public Library, IC Parks Department, and the FBI:CJIS. Join us in a discussion on experience with emotionally escalated individuals, and learn skills to help you feel more at ease setting appropriate emotional boundaries and establishing safety.
This is part of our Table Talk and Potluck Lunch series. Please bring dish to share, and enjoy the opportunity to connect and learn! #TasteTalkTakeAction
