Description / Party 101 and Dress Code
Deviant is a sex-positive & body-positive environment, with the intention of empowering Black and Brown Queer people to be our full selves UNAPOLEGETICALLY.
That means there's no shaming, shade, violence or bullying allowed in our spaces. Only positive reinforcement is allowed. No body shaming, no kink-shaming, no slut shaming, no femme-phobia, bottom-shaming, etc. is permitted. Any incline of racism, sexism, colorism, transphobia, homophobia or ableism will get you expelled from our Safe Spaces.
The same goes for our core value of Drug-Safety, which uplifts dignity, respect and safety for drug users. Everyone, regardless of their background and/ or preferences may found resources for health, wellness and refuge in our spaces.
This signature party is that environment of empowerment embodied on the dance floor, as we invite our guests to dress in ways we've been historically denied based on heteronormative social and gender norms. Here is where you wear your leather, chaps, b-ball shorts, go shirtless or strap on your harness. Expect to hear house music, afrobeats, bounce, tribal sounds and a bit of hip hop, all rooted in Black and Brown culture. This space is for you and all centered in your celebration.
Dress Code: “Show some skin to get in.”
Tank-tops, crop tops, opened button-up, and shirtless are all welcome. This environment is intended to be a BRAVE space, so we ask everyone to respect the Dress Code the same way you would at a fancy restaurant. We're undoing respectability politics takes us all leaning into the discomfort together. Be brave! Bodies are beloved in every shape, shade, size and ability here! We're all shedding the BS armor of fashion labels and Sunday's best attire as we become one on the dancefloor.
