Going to Bike Week at Daytona Beach, Florida. Daytona is (IMO) light years ahead of Sturgis and best of all with Daytona...no one cares what brand of scooter you are riding whereas at Sturgis, you are an outcast and a leper if you are not on a Harley. We will meet up at 6:00 AM at the Waffle House in Alvarado and do breakfast then head out no later than 7:00 as we have 675 miles to cover to get to Mobile, Alabama for the night. Distance to Daytona is a little shy of 1200 miles. The farther we go on Saturday, the easier it will be going Sunday. When we get there, we can all hang out together or we can split up and everyone be on their own...no problem. My main focus will be the Speed-way and Main Street looking for a parking spot to watch the bikes go by...and some are the super custom type. And if you want, I will take everyone over to Orange City to a park where we can eyeball the Manatees. Monday morning, Day 3, we can head over to the Speedway to see everything that will be on exhibit there. After that we can cruise down Main Street and park, then hit all the vendors there. If you want T-shirts, I know of a great place on Main Street that has quality T-shirts for a great price. There is another place loaded with vendors we can go to several miles away. It is easy to get in and a bitch to get out...might need to think about that place. As for places to eat and get fresh sea food...almost anywhere.
On a side note, we will make a short stop just South about 8 miles of Gibsland, Louisiana to see where Bonnie and Clyde were eliminated from society...about a 10 to 15 minute stop, then off again to Jackson, Mississippi where we will turn and head southeast to Mobile. On the way back, we will go thru Baton Rouge.
