About this Event
An indoor and outdoor day of weather learning, observing and measuring.
What makes the weather in the mountains so variable? How do conditions change with height? Will it snow, rain or hail? What ingredients make a perfect inversion?
If you want to know more about the weird and wonderful weather, join us for a fun day of knowledge and observing in the Bannau Brycheiniog.
We'll study weather charts and understand the theory in the classroom in the morning, then we'll go out on the hill and experience it for real in the afternoon, taking measurements and observing the changing conditions as we go.
Maximum height gain around 300m, covering up to 5 miles, depending on conditions - if widely frozen ground, we will do a lower elevation walk.
Clothing suitable for indoors and outdoors essential. Notepad and pen optional.
Lunch available at on site cafe (not included in event price), or bring your own packed lunch.
