The RAeS Bristol Young Persons Working Group is delighted to invite you to a day trip to the National Space Centre (NSC) in Leicester.
This visit offers an exciting opportunity to explore the UK’s leading space science and astronomy venue, featuring interactive galleries, historic spacecraft, and inspiring exhibitions covering space exploration, satellites and future technologies.
Event Details:
- Date: Saturday 9 May 2026
- Meeting time and location: 6:45 am at Anchor Road, Bristol City Centre
- Departure: 7 am
- Arrival at NSC: Approx. 10 am
- Activities at NSC: 10 am – 4 pm
- Return Departure: 4:30 pm
- Estimated Return to Bristol: 7.30 pm to Anchor Road, Bristol City Centre
Transport & Costs
- To improve access to our Young Persons events, coach transport to and from the venue is provided for all attendees.
- Ticket fee: £20.31 per person.
The ticket fee is charged solely to cover the cost of running the event and goes directly towards paying for the group booking at the National Space Centre, secured at a discounted rate by the RAeS Bristol Branch on behalf of members and attendees.
No profit is made by the Branch from ticket sales. The Bristol Branch is additionally covering the full cost of transport to ensure the event is accessible to as many people as possible.
Who Can Attend?
- Open to anybody – you do not need to be an RAeS member
- 31 spaces available (early booking recommended)
What to Expect?
- Full access to all National Space Centre galleries and exhibitions
- Entry to the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium to watch an upgraded show titled Tour of the Night Sky during the visit
- Iconic space artefacts, including historic rockets, satellites, and spacecraft
- Interactive displays covering space science, astronomy, and engineering
- The opportunity to explore the NSC’s renowned Rocket Tower
- Time to explore at your own pace with fellow attendees
- A relaxed, social day out with travel fully arranged

Cancellation & Refund Policy
As this event involves advance group booking and transport arrangements, refunds may be limited.
- Refunds will be offered if you cancel at least 10 days before the event date (by Wednesday 29 April 2026).
- Cancellations made after 29 April 2026 may not be refundable unless your place can be filled from a waiting list.
- If the event must be cancelled by the organisers, a full refund will be issued.
