🌼 Day of the Dead – Make Your Own Altar (Kids Workshop) 🌼
Saturday, October 25, 2025 | Hotel Contessa - River Level Atrium | 2:00–3:30 PM
Introduce your child to the rich traditions of Día de los Muertos in a fun, hands-on workshop designed just for kids (ages 12 & under). Guided by our instructor and local artist, Mary Carmen Sessions, participants will create meaningful altar elements while learning about their cultural significance.
🎨 Workshop Activities
- Craft marigolds (flor de cempasúchil) from tissue paper
- Design colorful papel picado
- Shape & paint a mini pan de muerto from modeling clay
- Learn the meaning behind each element and its place in the Day of the Dead tradition

Who can participate?This workshop is for kids ages 12 & under only. Parents are welcome to stay and observe but the activities are for children.
How many spots are available?We’re keeping this intimate and hands-on — only 12 children can attend the workshop. Tickets will sell quickly!
What’s included in the ticket price?Each $25 ticket includes:
- All workshop supplies (craft materials, modeling clay, paints)
- One drink (soda, juice, or water)
- Snacks (chips & a cookie)
Do parents need a ticket?No, parents/guardians do not need a ticket. Only children participating in the workshop require tickets.
When should we arrive?Check-in begins 15 minutes before the workshop at Hotel Contessa Atrium (Take the Elevator down to River level R). We recommend arriving a little early to get settled.
What is the refund policy?All sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
